About me
At a young age, Dutch artists’ masterful use of light allured my artistic interest in oil painting. With time, these interests evolved to include watercolors. I soon discovered that I could combine my photography with painting through the art of hand coloring black and white prints. The careful process begins with untouched black and white photos printed on artistic paper . Using a combination of transparent oil paints, oil pencils and pastel, I then create unique colored prints.
At home in rural Maine, I find the changing seasons inspire and motivate the creative mind. My imagination has always been captivated by the natural world, inspiring work, leisure and recreation both indoors and out – spending time hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing and mountain guiding year round, while pursuing passions in music, painting and photography.
The complexities and pace of our daily lives often prevents attention to the small details that energize and touch hearts – those reflective moments when our inner eye catches a glimpse of the beauty and mystery that surrounds us. With art, one can capture these moments, suspending a visual experience that holds meaning indescribable by word.
